A curiosity for systems.
A drive to understand.
I’m a computer scientist and MSc Physics student at Stellenbosch University, exploring how software and mathematical ideas become useful systems.

From software to physics.
My undergraduate studies combined Computer Science and Applied Mathematics. I went on to complete an honours degree in Computer Science, where my dissertation explored quantum computing in finance.
That path led to an MSc in Physics at Stellenbosch University. My research investigates automated circuit design for quantum kernel methods using evolutionary algorithms.
Understanding through building.
My projects range from quantum architecture search to procedural worlds, graphics prototypes, language tools and memory management. I enjoy making the underlying ideas concrete: representing a candidate solution, projecting a world onto a screen, or turning source code into executable instructions.
WorldMachina grew from my interest in tabletop role-playing games and the challenge of creating a believable world. The same curiosity runs through my smaller experiments in C and C++.
Sharing what I learn.
Teaching and explaining are part of how I develop my own understanding. I have tutored Computer Networks and Software Engineering at Stellenbosch University. The tutorials on this site provide a space for practical walkthroughs, while the blog collects broader notes and ideas.
